2015 Cover Crop Program

The CAP Board of Trustees will be accepting applications for the 2015 growing season. Applications will only be accepted during a sign-up period of August 1-14, 2015. Applications can be mailed to the address below, faxed to (419) 354-7923 or emailed to: hester@henry-net.com


Producers must agree to plant a multi-specie (3) cover crop blend with at least one specie an over-wintering variety. Maximum acreage per producer will be 25 acres or payment of $1,000.  Cover may not be destroyed until after March 1st, 2016. Reimbursement will be based upon a rate of $40 per acre.

2014 Campbell's Soup Program- Controlled Drainage Practices

CAP has budgeted $40,000 of our funds for FY2014 to funds this program. The application form still uses the current funding formula as we had in FY2013 i.e. to fund systems based upon two types: $2,100 per structure and $4,100 per structure based upon the sizing limits for each of these systems. CAP will be accepting applications after January 13, 2014. Funds will be reviewed by CAP Trustees and approval will be based upon available funds.

Under Cover - Brush Creek Conservation Action Plan

Starting October 1, 2013, CAP in conjunction with Williams, Fulton and Henry SWCD's will be offering a new funding opotunity to local producers.  This program will be targeted to producers farming in Brush Creek Watershed.  The practices being offered include 1)cover crops and 2) Buffer Strip and Erosion Control Structures.

2014 Cover Crop Program

The CAP Board of Trustees approved a 2014 Cover Crop program and will be accepting applications for planting a cover crop during the 2014 growing season (July-October). This is a one-time offer. Producer agrees to plant up a minimum of 20 acres of a cover crop, will be reimbursed $25 per acre or a maximum payment of $500. This program is open to all producers on a first come serve basis.   Applications will be accepted from July 21, 2014 thru September 30, 2014.

2013 Cover Crop program

The CAP Board of Trustees approved a 2013 Cover Crop program and accepted applications during the 2013 growing season(August-November).  This was a one-time offer.  The producer agreed to plant a minimum of 20 acres of a cover crop and was reimbursed $25 per acre or a maximum payment of $500.  This program was only open to landowner/producers who had not participated under a previous CAP Cover Crop Program.  Applications were accepted April 1- August 1, 2013. 

The program was limited to 320 acres or 16 applicants.

2013 Campbell's Soup Program

Due to limited funds for this program, we have decided to revise our funding formula i.e. provide maximum dollars per structure as outlined on the new agreement form. Beginning January 1, 2013, CAP will fund a system based upon two types a max of $2,100 per structure and a max of $4,100 per structure based upon the sizing limits for each of these systems. CAP will be accepting applications after January 1, 2013. Funds will be reviewed by CAP Trustees and approval will be based upon available funds. For FY2013 CAP will make available $45,000 available for control drainage sites.
